Over the years, we’ve noticed that more than 90% of our students’ parents come from non-Carnatic music backgrounds. While they are incredibly supportive of their children’s musical journey, many have told us they aren’t quite sure how to help with practice at home or fully understand what their children are learning in class.

One of the questions we hear most often is, “Can you explain the fundamentals in a way that’s easy for us to understand?”

That’s exactly why we created this video series.

In these videos, our Director, Chethana Krishna ji, explains the foundational concepts of Carnatic music in a simple, practical, and easy-to-follow manner. Whether you’re completely new to Carnatic music or simply want to better support your child’s learning, these videos will give you a clear understanding of the building blocks your child is mastering at The Raaga School.

We encourage you to watch the videos alongside your child, ask questions, and enjoy learning together. A parent’s encouragement and understanding can make a tremendous difference in a student’s musical journey.
