Carnatic Violin and Vocal Teacher
M.T. Sruthikanth is a virtuoso Carnatic vocalist, violinist, film music composer, and record producer who has gained worldwide recognition through his solo projects and collaborations with other superstar musicians.
He has been a prominent disciple of the world-renowned legendary singer, violinist, and composer L. Shankar (AKA Shenkar) for over eight years and has assisted Shankar Ji with his various musical productions. Sruthikanth is also an All India Radio B-graded Vocal Artiste.
Sruthikanth is an extremely talented Carnatic vocalist, violinist, and composer who has been performing extensively in India. He is also an upcoming playback singer and works predominantly in the Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil film industries. He composed background scores for a few films and worked with the famed Music Director Ravi Basrur for the magnum opus KGF Chapter-2 as a Lead Playback singer in 2022, a blockbuster Kannada-language K period action film.
Displaying his virtuosity in various musical genres, he has performed extensively, featuring his Indian music with ‘Kayros’ (a renowned Brazilian band) and recorded world music albums for the reputed German label Blackout Records.
Sruthikanth was born in Kerala, and his parents are also from Kerala. He grew up in Bengaluru, where he was exposed to South Indian music and other styles from an early age. He started studying vocals at the age of three and violin at eight. He gained a large following while performing with some of the most eminent venues in Carnatic music, playing multiple times all through India, such as ‘Nadaneeranjanam’ (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam).
In addition to his musical accomplishments, he is a master in Kathakali Sangeetham with All India Radio Grade-Kathakali Sangeetham, which belongs to the Sopana music category, which is slow and strictly adheres to tala or rhythm, giving a full vision of Abhinaya, meaning acting.
On top of all his accomplishments, and possibly because of them, Sruthikanth started ‘MT Audio Production’ in India in 2016, which has several prominent musicians collaborating from various parts of the world in different genres of music.
